Throughout your pregnancy journey, you might have a number of ultrasound scans that confirm the viability and health of the baby and the pregnancy. One special scan known as the gender scan is perhaps one of the most vital scans for many parents. They get to know the sex of their baby through it and get other important medical information too. We recommend booking from 16 weeks onwards for over 99% accuracy. In some rare cases, gender may be visible as early as 13–15 weeks, but this is less reliable.
Our Gender Scan is available from 16 weeks of pregnancy onwards and provides a reliable way to discover the sex of your baby. Using advanced ultrasound equipment, our experienced gynaecologists deliver highly accurate results (>99% after 16 weeks).

BOOK ONLINE NOWFamilies have a lot of reasons why they should get a gender scan. Some of the advantages of the scan are:
Choosing the best name for your baby is not an easy task, and twice as long as that takes when you need to identify a name for a girl and for a boy since you do not know the baby’s gender. If you have an idea of the gender of the baby, you can simply concentrate on names that are most suitable for your child’s gender, narrowing down the long list of names that you would otherwise have to come up with by as much as 50%.
It is challenging enough to imagine the design and theme of the nursery when you don’t even know the sex of the child. Since the gender scan is early in pregnancy, it gives you enough time to go out and make the ideal nursery for your baby with the ideal colour palette. You will also find it simple to select the appropriate clothes in the correct colour for your child. Getting to know the gender of the baby makes is much easy to plan and buy accessories and clothes for the kid before they arrive.
Many expectant parents feel that calling their baby ‘it’ feels distant, so they prefer to know more about them. Having that connection makes bonding activities like humming lullabies before bedtime more meaningful, and can even inspire ideas for outdoor plans once the baby arrives.
Not knowing your baby’s gender can bring up many issues. What colour do you paint the nursery? Do you purchase pants or dresses or both? What kind of toys do you purchase? A gender scan will avoid uncertainty and surprises.
This scan is ideal for expecting parents who would like an early glance at their baby’s health, sex and growth. Our gender reveal scan comprises a restricted wellbeing check by our trained gynaecologist, who will confirm your baby is developing as normal, illustrate the position of the baby and the placenta, and see the heart, abdomen and brain.
The scan consists of a 99.9% accurate sex determination, a home take-away gender reveal gift, and a glance at your baby in 4D. Two photo-quality prints and digital copies of all images are also sent to you, allowing for easy sharing with loved ones.

Gender scans are very accurate. They are not 100%, but they are quite close and not usually wrong, mostly if the scan is being carried out by a skilled and meticulous gynaecologist.
At Gynae UK, our gender scan is a precise test for identifying the sex of your child, done with a success rate of more than 99.9%.
With our gender reveal scan, you will be able to discover the sex of your baby from as early as 16 weeks with more than 99.9% accuracy!
In a few cases the gender can be seen sooner, but we advise waiting until you are at least 16 weeks pregnant because the structures within your baby are really small – usually only a few millimetres across which can make it hard to definitely know the sex. As pregnancy advances these small structures to develop and become more substantial, so it is easier to know the gender of the baby.
The gender scan is not very long. It lasts about 30 minutes. This is sufficient time for the gynaecologist to perform a thorough check, see everything is in order with your baby’s growth, and ascertain the gender. The duration of the scan may vary, however, based on the position of the baby and how prepared you are.
Yes, a gender ultrasound is usually safe and does not have any known risks to the baby.
We are able to determine the sex of the baby on the first attempt in the majority of scans. But on very occasional cases (<1%), we will not be able to detect the gender confidently. This is typically because of the position of the baby. If we are not able to determine the sex of your baby, your scan will be suspended and you will be asked to move around or have some fluids to attempt to get your baby to move and change position. You will be scanned again to see if the gender is visible from the position. If however after a few tries we are still unable to identify the gender, we will ask you to return for a follow-up scan another day for no charge. You can be rest assured as our gender scan is safe and our clinic has flexible appointments.
